Opportunities for Electrical Training

 

IBEW Local 13 of Burlington, Iowa, offers Apprentice and Journeymen training through the Southeast Iowa JATC. The programs are a joint venture between the local IBEW union and the National Electrical Contractors Association of Southeast Iowa. Based on NJATC classes, these programs are designed to teach everything from basic electrical theory all the way up to the latest systems and technologies available today. Because of our commitment to educating our members, IBEW Local 13 has the edge on its competition when it comes to providing the most qualified workers.

 

 

Apprenticeship Program 

 

The Southeast Iowa JATC offers an excellent program which will train you with the nessesary skills and knowledge an electrician needs, all while you work on the job earning a paycheck. If you are looking for an opportunity to learn a trade which could help secure your future, this program could be for you.

NOTICE OF APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY

FOR THE SOUTHEAST IOWA ELECTRICAL

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

 

 

THE SOUTHEAST IOWA ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING COMMITTEE IS SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR THEIR ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM. REQUESTS FOR APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE FROM 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM MONDAY THRU FRIDAY AT THE SOUTHEAST IOWA ELECTRICAL TRAINING CENTER LOCATED AT 1205 NORTH CENTRAL AVE. BURLINGTON IOWA,WINGER MECHANICAL LOCATED AT 918 HAYNE ST. OTTUMWA IOWA OR ON LINE AT www.seiajatc.org. TO BE ELEGIBLE FOR AN INTERVIEW IN MAY OF 2011 ALL COMPLETED ALLPICATIONS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE SOUTHEAST IOWA TRAINING CENTER NO LATER THAN APRIL 1ST 2011. MINORITIES AND FEMALES ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.

Journeymen Wiremen Training
 
With the constant changes in the electrical industry today, the journeyman wireman also needs to update his skills through the Southeast Iowa JATC Program.  Many of the classes offered can be approved by the State of Iowa as continuing education credits.
 
Please remember,  the State of Iowa requires anyone working as an electrician to have a State Electrical License. This license is good for a three year period and in order to renew it, you must take a mandatory 18 hours of continuing education classes. It is the responsibility of the individual to meet these requirements, so please do not wait until the last few weeks before your license expires to do so.
